I love venturing into a remote area that has been closed off to most of the world and where life has remained the way it was since the beginning of time. This was my second visit to South Sudan, and I was reminded of how harsh and densely populated the patch of land was. Pristine, stunning thatched huts stood in the starkness of the virgin landscape, forming a scene that is rare today as more tarmac roads are built and the modern world ascends into these remote corners of the earth.
As I was roaming around the village admiring the architect of the structures, when a Toposa women wandered through the scene coming home from a distant village. The comfort of returning home is the same for all of us regardless of where home is.
