Sometimes compelling photographs materialize at the most unexpected times. It has been a full and wonderful morning and I was heading back to camp. I stumbled across an active herd of elephants that had just come from the river where they had been taking a mud bath and were dusting in the heat of the day. The dust that sticks to the mud and skin acts as a sunscreen, bug repellent and moisturizer for their sensitive skin. The sheer sight of it is breathtaking.
